G Kishan Reddy: Sri Chaitanya and Narayana colleges pampered by Telangana govt

Mr Kishan Reddy said that arts subjects were not taught in these colleges.

Hyderabad: BJP Legislature Party leader G. Kishan Reddy on Saturday accused the state government of not taking action on the vigilance commission report on the irregularities in Sri Chaitanya and Narayana colleges. He said that the TRS before the formation of the state was vociferous in its demand to scarp these institutions for committing irregularities but became silent after it formed government.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr Kishan Reddy said there was some fear in the managements of these two corporate college groups but after the TRS came to power they violated all rules and and were fleecing parents. Mr Kishan Reddy said that arts subjects were not taught in these colleges, The non-teaching staff and infrastructure were not sufficient, and the teaching staff did not have the required qualifications. Despite these irregularities have been pointed out by Vigilance Commission, the Board of Intermediate Education was sleeping over it and had become “Srichaitanya-Narayana Board” in practice.

The BJP leader gave a location-wise list of colleges of these two institutions which he said were running in violation of rules and regulations. He demanded complete lifting of the income-tax exemption given to these colleges and that the government act on the vigilance and enforcement wing report submitted in 2015. He wanted strict periodical inspections of the colleges, appointment of parent-student committees to oversee the functioning of these colleges, strict implementation of rule of reservations, take steps for the institutions to provide playground, parking, laboratories and library at all these colleges besides running colleges and hostels separately and bring uniform fee structure.
