Telangana government plans to stop school fee exploitation

They told the minister that schools have started enrolments for the 2017-18 academic year and are fleecing parents once again.

Hyderabad: The Telangana government would set up Fee Regulatory Committees in all districts to control the problem of indiscriminate fee collection by private schools, according to members of the Hyderabad School Parents Association (HSPA).

An HSPA delegation met deputy chief minister and education minister Kadiyam Srihari on Friday. The minister assured them that the government would set up panels on the lines of AFRC for professional colleges and legal opinion was being sought for this. HSPA delegates Aravinda Jata, Ashish Naredi and Seema Agarwal submitted proofs of collection of one-time fee by schools above the stipulated Rs 5,000.

They told the minister that schools have started enrolments for the 2017-18 academic year and are fleecing parents once again.
