TV sets, mobiles top list of Dasara sales, Bajaj Electronics aces experience

Leading the electronic revolution are companies like Bajaj Electronics, which witnessed huge crowds during the season

HYDERABAD: The upcoming Dasara festival heightened the enthusiasm for purchasing electronic items even as people rushed out of their online shopping inertia to rush to electronic outlets across the city to buy their favourite electronic items during the festive season.

Among the most sought-after and purchased electronic items are television sets and mobile phones, which top the list, followed by refrigerators, washing machines and laptops. In small and kitchen appliances, water purifiers and dishwashers were in great demand, along with other electronic devices such as IT products and sound systems.

Smart and 4,000 television sets too were in high demand, especially with children pestering their parents to buy them. Interestingly, most children wanted to play video games on big screens instead of watching traditional TV programmes. TV sets were also at high sale because of considerable discounts in prices, post-lockdown, with a smart TV set starting from a minimum of `10,000.

Moreover, the OTT craze which consolidated in a big way during the lockdown has triggered the demand for bigger TV screens as many people demanded TV screens with a size of 55 – 75 inches.

Karan Bajaj, CEO, Bajaj Electronics and Electronics Mart of India, said, “The sale of electronics, especially TVs, mobile phones and kitchen appliances has been on a very fast growth track. We at Bajaj Electronics have been able to take market leadership because we keep to the basics — good locations, availability and display of maximum items and range, best price offers and trustworthy after sales service and customer support.”

Leading the electronic revolution are companies like Bajaj Electronics, which witnessed huge crowds during the season, which peaked a day before the big festival day to welcome home their wishlist appliances, gadgets or devices.
Nishant Reddy, a resident of Sun City said, “I have been a permanent customer of Bajaj Electronics for the past six years. I only visit Bajaj showroom for all my electronic and gadget purchases as they have excellent service for installation, maintenance support and for order on demand for requested appliances. This Dasara I am buying a washing machine and TV.”

Moreover, special festive offers attracted people to buy their favourite gadgets or appliances, who waited for this occasion to purchase their desired items to avail the best discount and offers.

A sales manager of Bajaj Electronics in Bandlaguda Jagir branch said that their company had arranged special offers for the festive season for customers, including lucky draw coupons of Rs 10 lakh, Rs 20 lakh and Rs 30 lakh for lucky customers, as well as cashback offers on purchases made through select debit and credit cards.

N. Nahida from Secunderabad said she was buying a refrigerator today because of a special offer and a good discount on the model that she had selected long back.

Another resident from Langer Houz, V. Devender, who was purchasing a mobile phone for his daughter, who was a BTech student, said, “I want to buy a good phone at a reasonable price for my daughter for her assignments and online classes and there are many good offers because of Dasara everywhere.”

The excitement of sale, purchase and offers on the electronic appliances would continue to bloom for over next month with the extended festival season.

“After two odd years of the pandemic, people are looking at changing their mobile phones regularly, which accounts for over 35 per cent of our sales revenue. Kitchens are undergoing a change too, with many people buying their first dish washer. People also use festival time to change their TV, refrigerator and other items,” Mr Bajaj added.
