Hyderabad: Depressed that his wife did not return from her maternal home following a fight between them, a 22-year-old man committed suicide in the wee hours on Thursday by hanging from the ceiling.
According to the Neredmet inspector, the deceased was identified as K. Naveen, a resident of PB Colony. Naveen had been in love with Divya Sindhu belonging to the same area for a while. Though the couple belonged to different castes, they convinced their parents and got married in March this year. The couple was living happily at a rented house in Dammaiguda, until minor disputes started between them in August.
The woman went to her parents’ house in PB Colony and Naveen also went to his mother's house.
On Thursday morning, his mother went to wake him up, but Naveen did not open the door. With the help of neighbours, she broke open the door only to see her son hanging lifeless, said the inspector.
The body of the deceased was handed over to his mother after conducting the autopsy at Gandhi Hospital mortuary and a case of suspicious death was registered for the probe, said Inspector Narsimha Swamy.
