CBSE bats for Aadhaar usage

The court also ruled out the need to produce the 12-digit unique identification number for school admissions.

Kochi: The CBSE has advised students registering with CBSE in Class IX and XI ahead of their Class X and Class XII board exams to enter the Aadhaar number which the board says will result in accuracy of students’ details.

The students not in possession of Aadhaar number may enter the numbers of passport, ration card, bank account or any other government identity.
The CBSE has also advised accuracy in personal details to avoid trouble later.

The Supreme Court last month had ordered that Aadhaar was not mandatory for the exams of National Eligibility-cum- Entrance Test, Univ-ersity Grants Commission and Central Board of Secondary Education.

The court also ruled out the need to produce the 12-digit unique identification number for school admissions. The CBSE has also asked all independent schools situated in India to deposit a sports fee of Rs 10,000 along with the registration fee.

Subject combinations and subject codes should be correct as per the scheme of studies (fill the subject as offered by the school).

Selection of Hindi-A, Hindi-B & Urdu etc in Class IX and Hindi (core), Hindi (elective), English (core), English (elective), Sanskrit (core), Sanskrit (elective), Urdu (core), Urdu (elective) etc. in Class XI should be done cautiously. Schools must ensure uploading of 100 percent correct data to avoid future problems of corrections in students’ data. Heads of schools should personally monitor this activity, the CBSE circular said.
