Kowkur: 2 kids suffer shock while flying kites

Both boys were said to be drenched in the rains and received severe electric shocks.

Hyderabad: Two children aged 12 and 10 years were badly burnt when the kites they were flying from the terrace of their building in Bharatnagar, Kowkur on Tuesday came in contact with a high tension power line.

Both boys were said to be drenched in the rains and received severe electric shocks. They fell unconscious and were taken to Gandhi Hospital. The duo were rushed to the Gandhi Hospital, where doctors suggested that they cut off their hands, but the parents refused, according to sources. The parents also didn’t wish to register a case.

When contacted, the DE, operations, of Sainikpuri, P. Karunakar Babu, said, “We received a complaint today about the issue and our assistant engineer, Vijay, had gone to the spot. The kids were playing near the electric line and the incident happened. They had gone to retrieve the kite and received electric shock.”
