Telangana: MLA's aides and ASI assault man

K. Yadagiri, a resident of Lingampally, was driving towards BHEL on Tuesday morning.

Hyderabad: A 38-year-old short film editor, who went to the RC Puram police station to file a complaint against the local MLA’s aides, was beaten up by an ASI inside the station. The film editor, K. Yadagiri, had gone to the police station after he was beaten up by the driver and gunman of Patan-cheru MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy, when he asked them to move their vehicle aside.

K. Yadagiri, a resident of Lingampally, was driving towards BHEL on Tuesday morning. When he reached the Hanuman temple in Lingampally, he found the MLA’s car parked and driver Mahender Reddy inside. As the vehicle was blocking traffic, he asked the driver to move it aside and this led to an argument.

“He drove the vehicle some distance and parked it. After that a gunman and two others came to me and abused me. They beat me up severely,” he said.

After the fight he went to the RC Puram police station to file a complaint and met the station writer. The writer snatched his mobile phone and asked him to sit. Meanwhile, the MLA’s driver Mahender Reddy came to the police station and met ASI Balakrishna Reddy.

“Later, he came inside and tried to assault me. When I tried to defend myself, the ASI slapped me and abused me in vulgar language. The CCTV cameras at the reception will reveal what happened there,” Yadagiri said.

Yadagiri filed a complaint with the RC Puram police against the MLA’s driver Mahender Reddy, gunman and two others for assaulting him and also against ASI Balakrishna Reddy for attacking him.

Police registered a case in the first complaint. RC Puram DSP S. Surender Reddy said the police will enquire into the allegations against the ASI.
