TD leaders told to keep abreast of technology
VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam president and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday advised party leaders to adopt changing technology to develop leadership in real time governance.
He said party leaders should concentrate on knowledge economy to achieve good results. Constituency-wise dashboards would be developed on a par with his own dashboard to give information of all sectors for real-time governance, he said, adding that all services would be made online within two months.
Presiding over the inaugural session of the three-day party leadership empowerment programme at KL Univer-sity near here on Tues-day, Mr Naidu stressed on the need for better coordination among veterans and newcomers into the party. He said leaders should work with the commitment to bring inclusive growth rate in economic, social and health sectors.
Mr Naidu said priority was being given to irrigation sector and the state government was keen on completing all irrigation projects on priority basis to provide water to Rayalaseema. He said the state government was successful in stabilising the Krishna delta ayacut by completing the Pattiseema lift irrigation scheme in record time.
He stressed the need for rainwater harvesting in all villages. The three-day workshop is aimed at sensitising the party leaders regarding government welfare programmes and the use of technology in real time governance.
On the first day, the leaders were divided into 10 groups of 20 members each and discussed state bifurcation and benefits of special category status and special package.
Later, they gave their presentations before Mr Naidu and technical experts explained the functioning of the Chief Minister’s dashboard. On day two, Vision 2022, constituency-wise growth index and implementation of government welfare schemes will be discussed.
In the afternoon, use of Kaizala application, biometric, Iris, drone, sensors, machine learning, Internet of things for better administration and use of constituency-wise dashboards will be explained.
On the third day, leadership qualities, political developments and empowerment of party cadre will be discussed. Mr Naidu wants members to strengthen their leadership skills apart from making them technology savvy to face the 2019 elections.
