Hyderabad’s northeast to get new lines

The new network will supply water to the 190 villages/habitations situated beyond the GHMC but within the Outer Ring Road.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has decided to lay a new drinking water network in Dammaiguda, Shamirpet and Kesara. Water Board officials said that the three locations are feasible for new drinking water pipelines.

The new network will supply water to the 190 villages/habitations situated beyond the GHMC but within the Outer Ring Road.

The project has been in the pipeline for two years, but many homes have yet to get a connection. New connections are given as and when funds are sanctioned, said Board officials. The target is 1.5 lakh connections, but the Water Board has not given even 50 per cent of the connections.
