Hyderabad: A third-year engineering girl student (20) at Gurunanak Engineering College at Ibrahimpatnam fell from the third floor of the college hostel building during the early hours of Wednesday.
She was admitted to a private hospital for treatment and after she recuperates, more information about the incident will be unearthed, said the police.
According to Ibrahimpatnam police, the girl identified as R Sowmya (20) from Armoor in Nizamabad district was studying third-year engineering (ECE) at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology. She stayed in the college hostel.
At around 2 am, Sowmya fell from the third floor of the hostel building. Her friends, who noticed this and alerted the hostel warden and the security immediately rushed her to Osmania General Hospital for treatment.
“The girl suffered multiple fractures including to her lower jaw. Though she is currently out of danger, she may need time to recuperate, and only then we would be able to record her statement on how the incident took place," said Ibrahimpatnam inspector P Guruva Reddy.
