BJP obstructs Cantonment development: KT Rama Rao

Rama Rao held a meeting with Cantonment board members on Wednesday at Telangana Bhavan.

Hyderabad: TRS working President KT Rama Rao alleged that the BJP was obstructing the development of Secunderabad Cantonment area. Mr Rama Rao said that he would ask Health Minister Etela Rajendar to write to the centre asking it to hand over the defence hospital in the cantonment area to the state government.

Mr Rama Rao held a meeting with Cantonment board members on Wednesday at Telangana Bhavan.

The TRS working president said several development works were halted due to the lack of permission from the central government. He expressed confidence about TRS’ victory in the cantonment elections.

Mr Rama Rao said that after the TRS came to power in Telangana, it had taken up several development works in the cantonment area. But the state government was not able to take up the development works speedily because it required permission from the cantonment board and defence department of the central government.

He added that there had been no response from the centre on the construction of skyways after repeated requests from party MPs and ministers.
