Hyderabad twin blasts case: Acquitted not to walk free soon

The court will go through the record and if they are not wanted they will be set free, the defence lawyer said.

Hyderabad: Eleven years is a long time to be in prison for a crime you did not commit, but Farookh Sharfuddin Tarkash and Sadiq Israr Ahmed Shaik, who were acquitted by the court on Tuesday for want of evidence in the twin blasts cases, will not be set free soon. According to their lawyer, the release of the duo depends on whether they are wanted in connection with other cases in other cities.

The court will go through the record and if they are not wanted they will be set free, the defence lawyer said. AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi tweeted on the acquittal of the two: “Farooq and Sadiq have been in prison from 2009 and after nine years court finds them not guilty and acquits them. Their lawyer Abdul Azeem tells me evidence was circumstantial and eyewitnesses who were found after one of offence (sic). Pain continues.”
