Chithra sings for kerala rebuld campaign, CMDRF

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has shared on his Facebook page an album by singer K.S. Chithra supporting the rebuilding campaign for the flood-affected state and seeking contribution to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund. The song has also gone viral in the social media.

The album was made by a group of artistes under the banner Kerala Art Lovers’ Association (KALA) to boost the morale of the people of the state who took up the task of rebuilding the flood-battered state,, said Abhiram Krishnan who was behind the concept of the video. KALA has been conducting various programmes at the relief camps. The album was part of the ‘Santhwana Sangeetham’ initiative organised by KALA along with other music group.

“We shall not fall apart in the face of any calamity or tragedy. We shall stand together and rebuild Kerala into a new state,” goes the lyrics, which sung by Hariharan and Chithra along with Vishnuraj, Khalid, Sijukumar, Pramila and Saritha Ram. Playback singers Sayanora, Vidhu Prathap, Anvar Sadhath, Ravishankar, Harishankar, drummer Sivamani and actor Kalabhavan Shajon are among those who appear in the video.

The video, directed by Subhash Anchal and produced by Lalu Joseph, has Joy Thammalam’s lyrics, and Roni Raphael’s music. The video has visuals captured during the recent floods in the state.

Chithra had donated Rs 2 lakh to the CMDRF and visited the volunteers at camp in Thirugvananthapuram to boost their moral along with playback singers Anwar Sadath and Rajalakshmy. She spent the Thiruvonam day with inmates of the relief camps in Alappuzha.
