Misfire killed driver of Nellore cop, confirms forensics expert
Nellore: A forensic experts here have ruled out foul play behind the death of the driver of Nellore Additional SP Sharat Babu when his guard’s AK 47 misfired late on Saturday night.
Driver Ramesh Babu was struck by bullets of the AK 47 being carried by gunman Nagendra. The driver's family had alleged murder.
Besides, Nellore Rural legislator K. Sridhar Reddy had recently demanded a probe into the nexus bet-ween bookies and drivers and gunmen of cops.
Additionally, a circle inspector had reportedly questioned Nagendra sometime back after he found his mobile number in the call record of a notorious bookie Krishna Singh. In this backdrop, Government Medical College forensic expert Dr Z. Sasikanth said it was a case of misfire and the gun was not aimed at the victim.
Dr Sasikanth, who performed the autopsy, said anyone shooting to kill would aim the vital organs. In the case of Ramesh Babu, he said none of the three bullets had touched any vital organ.
