Hyderabad High Court seeks report on SPCAs
The bench directed both states to provide information on the responsibilities entrusted with the SPCA units.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Monday directed the AP and TS governments to file affidavits explaining the status of functioning of Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) units in the two states.
A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice J. Uma Devi was dealing with petitions by animal rescue organisations and seeking directions to both states to protect animals.
The bench directed both states to provide information on the responsibilities entrusted with the SPCA units, the duties of their employees and the funds allocated to them.
