Holy dip at Brahma Gundam set to end

They will have to go to the Pushkarani being built about 500 metres away from the hill at Gandicherla.

Hyderabad: Pilgrims will not be allowed to take a holy dip at the traditional Pushkarani (Brahma Gundam) when the Yadadri temple complex opens sometime next year.

They will have to go to the Pushkarani being built about 500 metres away from the hill at Gandicherla.

The Kalyanakatta, where devotees offer hair, will also be moved to Gandicherla. After offering the hair, pilgrims can take a dip at the new Pushkarini and enter the queue to the complex. Thus the custom at Yadadri for pilgrims to take the holy dip at the Brahma Gundam and go for darshan in wet clothes may come to an end.

Besides, the Kavacha Murthy of Goddess Lakshmi has been shifted to the right side of Lord Narasimha’s Kavacha Murthy, which is against the custom of the older one being on the right side.
