Hyderabad: Licensed vendors dupe land buyers with fakes, arrested

When questioned by police, the two confessed to procuring old non-judicial stamp papers and selling them to customers.

Hyderabad: Two licensed vendors at the Secunderabad court who were preparing and selling fake land documents and outdated old non-judicial stamp papers along with an accomplice were arrested by the East Zone Task Force on Saturday night.

According to the police, Kranthi Suresh Kumar, 62, claimed to be a real estate businessman and licensed vendor and befriended one Mohd Ali, 40, a document writer at the Secunderabad court.

East Zone Task Force inspector K. Srinivas said, “They hatched a conspiracy to dupe people by selling non-existent land through manufactured fake documents. Upon getting a tip-off we arrested Suresh Kumar and Mohd Ali.”

When questioned by police, the two confessed to procuring old non-judicial stamp papers and selling them to customers.

Police seized 228 old non-judicial stamp papers, 105 new non judicial stamp papers, and 104 fake rubber seals and stamps of sub registrars and government officials from their possession, the inspector said.

The accused persons along with the seized property were handed over to Gandhi Nagar Police for further investigation, according to the Task Force police.
