Anti-sarfaesi panel proposes package.

Kochi: Finance Minister Thomas Isaac will hold a meeting at his office in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday to find a solution to the loan liability of the family of Preetha Shaji who faces attachment of their property and residence at Manathupadam near Edappally in Kochi. Apart from promising an amount to settle the liability the committee has called for the cancellation of auction order issued by the debt recovery tribunal.

The government has been forced to act in the matter as the indefinite hunger strike launched by Preetha in front her house has received support from leaders cutting across political differences.

Chief Minister Pianrayi Vijayan on Saturday has assured former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy that a solution to settle the issue would be found in consultation with the finance minister. Mr Chandy met Mr Vijayan at Kerala House in Delhi and urged him to initiate steps to prevent the att-achment of the property.
