Telangana: Moderate rains likely

Over the last 24 hours, the south west monsoon currents have been weak over Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Hyderabad: Northern Telangana can expect moderate to heavy rains in the next 24 hours as the upper air circulation over the Bay of Bengal is indicating a depression which will strengthen the south west monsoon currents.

Over the last 24 hours, the south west monsoon currents have been weak over Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and isolated rains occurred at a few places in the two states.

However, the upper air cyclonic circulation, which is tilting towards the south-west, may cause rainfalls in the northern districts of the two Telugu-speaking states in 24 hours. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and northern districts also may receive the rains, said officials from the local weather bureau.

Telangana received 35.39 cm of rainfall from the start of the monsoons from June 12 to August 4. The normal average for the state is 40.49 cm.
