Edappadi Palaniswamy launches series of schemes

Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Friday launched a series of schemes and inaugurated new facilities to an estimate of Rs 24 crore at a function held here at the secretariat.

A press release said that the Chief Minister through video conferencing inaugurated fish landing centres at two locations in Ramanathapuram district, which would help about 3,500 fishermen, it said. The facilities established at Dhanuskodi and T- Maariyur will enhance the livelihood of local fishermen.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated an artificial insemination training centres and fodder production centres at Orathanadu established by the state animal husbandry department. He also inaugurated a multi-level automated milk powder storage unit in Madurai, a storage unit at Coimbatore, a veterinary university research centre in Chennai. He also inaugurated new buildings constructed to cater to the departments of Finance and Registration, the release said.

Animal husbandry minister Balakrishna Reddy, chief secretary Girija Vaidyanthan and animal husbandry secretary Gagandeep Singh Bedi also attended the function.
