PM Opens Sai Hira Convention Centre in AP

ANANTAPUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated that social welfare has been the focus of religious and spiritual institutions in India.

Inaugurating the Sai Hira Global Convention Centre at Puttaparthi in Satya Sai district via video conferencing on Tuesday, Modi said while moving towards the century of India’s Independence, they are prioritising duties, treating Amrit Kaal as Kartavya Kaal.

“Spiritual values must guide our resolve for the future. It must have both Vikas (development) as well as Virasat (heritage),” the PM underlined.

He pointed out that while places of spiritual significance are getting rejuvenated in India, the country has taken a lead in technology and economy. “India is now one of the top 5 economies in the world. It supports the third-largest start-up ecosystem in the world,” Modi stated, emphasising that India is competing with the globe’s leading nations in sectors like digital technology and 5G.

The PM said 40 per cent of real-time online transactions in the world are taking place in India. He urged devotees of Sri Sathya Sai Baba to ensure that the economy of entire Puttaparthi district turns digital by the next birth anniversary of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Modi said all saints have nourished the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” spirit’ for thousands of years in India.

AP Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, several officials and devotees from around the world attended the inauguration of the Sai Hira Global Convention Centre in Puttaparthi.

The Prime Minister said the centre is an example of cultural diversity and a conceptual grandeur. He expressed confidence that the Sai Hira Global Convention Centre will become a focal point for discussions on spirituality and academics, where scholars and experts get together.

Apart from dedicating Sai Hira Global Convention Centre, Narendra Modi lauded that a Leader's Conference is being organised at the centre with the theme – Practice and Inspire, which is quite relevant. He emphasised on importance of good conduct by leaders of the society, as society follows them.

Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust has constructed the Sai Hira Global Convention Centre at Prasanthi Nilayam in Puttaparthi. The convention centre has been donated by philanthropist Ryuko Hira with the vision of promoting culture, spirituality and global harmony. It has world-class amenities and infrastructure to facilitate conferences and seminars.

The sprawling complex also has meditation halls, serene gardens and accommodation facilities.
