Hyderabad: Civic bodies in slumber as drinking water goes waste
Hyderabad: Motorists and local residents complain that drinking water has been spilling constantly on to the road in Kaladera, Malakpet, for several days. They said they had complained to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board as well as to the GHMC, but no action has been taken yet to resolve the issue.
The residents said that neither was the Water Board showing concern over the wastage of drinking water nor was the GHMC responding to complaints of the water damaging the road.
The residents of the area said that every alternate day, a huge quantity of water leaks from the pipeline. “Officials of the the water board are aware about the damage in the pipeline, but are ignoring it,” said a local resident.
Due to the stagnation of water, one part of the road has become unusable for motorists and pedestrians and it is damaging the road surface. Residents said they had pointed this out to the GHMC, but the officials were not taking any action.
