Telangana Human Rights Commission seeks report on Owaisi speech

The commission was hearing a petition filed by Telangana advocates.

Hyderabad: The State Human Rights Commission directed the Hyderabad Police Commissioner and the ACP Charminar to submit a report by September 7, on Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi’s speech at Mecca Masjid on Friday. The commission was hearing a petition filed by Telangana advocates.

The advocates in their petition stated that Mr Owaisi announced on Friday that his party would provide legal aid to the five ISIS suspects arrested by National Investigation Agency, which is giving oxygen to terrorists. He is directly or indirectly supporting terrorists who are targeting India.

The advocates stated that during the investigation the youth revea-led that they had plan-ned attacks on police stations, religious places and prominent persons, which is shocking.

“The conspiracy is foiled but Mr Owaisi providing legal aid to the suspects amounts to treason and promotes terror.” advocate K Sanjeev said. Based on his petition, the commission directed the Hyderabad Police Commissioner and the ACP Charminar to conduct an inquiry and submit a detailed report.
