Proposals will attract investments: AP government

APCRDA to obtain legal opinion on compliance with APIDE Act 2001 and Supreme Court judgement during the bid process.

Hyderabad: The GO issued by the AP government also says that proposal of Singapore Consortium will attract investments and jobs with world-class infrastructure as per the scope of the project as detailed by CRDA and given in the proposal.

It was also observed that development of such start-up area will not only kick-start economic activity in the capital region, but also enhance the value of land in the region benefiting the local people. The APIA resolved to permit CRDA to invite the competing counter-challenge proposal under Swiss Challenge under Section 19 II (vii) through international competitive bidding process in fair and transparent manner for the development of start-up area of 1,691 acres (in phases) in seed capital area after taking appropriate approval of state government including incentives/ concessions/support sought by the original project proponent (the Singapore consortium), without conferring or investing any right in any entity.

The APIA directed the CRDA commissioner to comply with the APIDE Act, 2001 throughout the selection process and ensure compliance with the judgement of the Supreme Court dated May 11, 2009, and follow fair and transparency in the bidding process as advised by the Kelkar Committee of the Centre.

The state government said after careful examination of revised Swiss Challenge Proposal and subsequent addendums, report of High Powered Committee (HPC), concessions /support /incentives sought by the Singapore Consortium and remarks thereon by various departments and recommendations of AP Infrast-ructure Authority and ke-eping interest and long term objectives of AP, it approved the proposal.
