GGHK to be upgraded on par with NIMS: MP

Sanjeev assured to provide support for the development of all kinds of assistance in the hospital.

Kurnool: Kurnool MP Dr S. Sanjiv Kumar said that the aim of YSRC government is to provide quality medical service for the poor. He promised to develop the Government General Hospital, Kurnool on par with NIMS, by holding discussions with Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The MP, along with district collector S. Satyanarayana, MLAs Hafeez Khan, Dr Sudhakar Babu and Katasani Rambhupal Reddy inaugurated the newly constructed three modern modular operation theatres at a cost of `1.2 crore at the Super Specialty block of Government General Hospital Kurnool on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the MP and MLAs inspected several wards in the hospital and interacted with the patients. He said that medical personnel, especially doctors, should work to provide better services in the government hospitals for the poor people.

Mr Sanjeev assured to provide support for the development of all kinds of assistance in the hospital. Former Chief Minister late Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy had promoted the health sector. The present Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is likely to work for the development of the government hospitals, he stated.

YSR Arogya Sree scheme has been extended to provide free services for almost all diseases, the MP added. Dr S. Sanjiv Kumar called upon the people to utilise the government services.

Later, the hospital authorities felicitated the newly elected MP and MLAs at Dhanwanthari Conference Hall in the hospital. Kurnool Medical College principal Dr G.S. Ramprasad, hospital superintendent Dr P. Chandrasekhar and others participated.
