Coimbatore: Martin firm cashier’s body to be handed over to family

Following an IT raid at his house on April 30, Palanisamy was found dead in a tank near Karamadai under mysterious circumstances.

Coimbatore: Finally, the body of Palanisamy, former cashier at 'lottery king' Martin's firm, is to be handed over to his family members, following a court order.

A second autopsy was conducted last Tuesday on the body of Palanisamy, former cashier at 'lottery king' Martin's firm, led by a new team of doctors at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) here.

Following an IT raid at his house on April 30, Palanisamy was found dead in a tank near Karamadai under mysterious circumstances. His family and relatives refused to accept the body and staged a protest demanding a fair probe. The body was left at the GH mortuary here.

Meanwhile, Palanisamy's wife and son claimed that the cashier's death was a planned murder, and the Madras High Court appointed Magistrate Ramados of JM- 8 court as the investigating officer, based on a petition filed by Palanisamy's wife and son, who demanded a second autopsy by a new team of doctors.

Magistrate Ramados also felt that the earlier autopsy report was unsatisfactory, and hence ordered a second autopsy which was conducted on May 28 at the GH here.

Meanwhile, district crime branch DSP, Raja Raveendar, petitioned the court demanding direction in connection with preserving the body of Palanisamy. Magistrate Ramdos on Tuesday ordered that the body be handed over to the victim's wife or else to his relatives.
