RTC employees threaten stir for wage hike
Hyderabad: Staff of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation have threatened to go on indefinite strike from June 11 demanding a hike in their salary. TSRTC Union leader Ashwathama Reddy requested all regional RTC staff organisations to support the strike.
The Union is planning to hold protest wearing red badges on June 7. They will go on a mass hunger strike in their respective regional offices on June 8. From June 11, the staff will go on an indefinite strike.
Man-son duo electrocuted
A man and his son were electrocuted after coming into contact with a 11 KV live wire while they were tilling a land owned by others near Raghunathapalem on Monday. The victims were identified as Banothu Sankar, 45, and his son Venkatesh, 19.
Venkatesh had notice the wire lying on the ground and informed Transco officials. They allegedly told him that the wire not live. He returned to the field and tried to move it, but was electrocuted. Sankar tried to save his son but he was also electrocuted.
