The trekking track in Devunoor, near the Inuparathi gutta, has been attracting professional trekkers who seek to walk through the dense forests for recreation and thrill. The district has just 1 per cent of forest area and Devunoor is the biggest forest block available in Warangal Urban district.
“The area has many rare species of birds, plants and animals. With the Dharmasagar Lake close by, the several rare birds exist here. The Devunoor forest block is spread across 800 hectares. It is just 20km from Warangal making it an ideal location for citizens to spend some time out in the lap of nature away from the daily buzz,” said district forest officer K. Purushotham.
Tourism department officials said all the required material for night camping like tents, tables, chairs, lights etc. have been procured and the bookings will be thrown open from June. 6.
