Telangana's T Wallet' crisis: Pune firm's app launched in 2016

TS requesting all users to check the correct app logo before downloading.

Hyderabad: Prime Communications, the Pune based firm which is in the limelight for running an app akin to Telangana government’s digital wallet, stated that they launched the facility in May 2016.

It claims its app to be the first digital gateway with multiple cash back for using its services like recharges, bill payments, online shopping, flower order, bus/hotel/flight bookings etc.

Users M. Kumar, Ramakrishna Reddy, who mistakenly downloaded the private app assuming it to be the TS’s e-payment app, posted messages to the private app developer not to spoil Telangana image by running the useless facility. Another person named K. Ramaswamy termed the private app as a “paagal app” and appealed to IT Minister to look into the issue. Another person Ajay Teja Reddy termed it a fake t-wallet app.

However, the company management in response stated that everybody was misunderstanding it to be the state-related app which it was not.

“We are t wallet and new users can join through reference only. The user ID of the referrer will be the parent ID of the new user. This is totally a private app working since May 2016. Kindly check and find the details if you want to work on this,” stated Prime Communications in its message.

Unlike other wallets in the market, the private app is having different procedures to log in and several users vented their anger against the management in the feedback section.

The IT department requested smartphone users to type T Wallet Telangana in the search column on playstore in Android phones so that the government app appears on the screen for download. Also they are advising users to check for the pink coloured logo that is completely different from the private app.
