Pedestrian mowed down by speeding lorry in Bengaluru

Passersby rushed to his help, while the lorry driver fled the spot abandoning the vehicle, the police said.

Bengaluru: A 23-year-old pedestrian was mowed down by a speeding lorry on Ballari Road in Chikkajala traffic police limits on Friday night. The deceased, Sunder Singh Bora, who hailed from Nepal worked as a security guard.

Around 9.30 pm, Sunder was crossing the road when a speeding lorry mowed him down killing him on the spot near Sadahalli Gate in front of ITC factory.
Passersby rushed to his help, while the lorry driver fled the spot abandoning the vehicle, the police said.

Chikkajala police shifted the body to a nearby hospital, and registerd a case in this connection. Women run over by lorry

A 60-year-old woman was mowed down by a speeding lorry near Bethel Church on the Outer Ring Road in Hebbal on Saturday noon. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Munilakshmamma, a resident of Nagenahalli.

The accident happened when she was trying to cross the road. The passersby found her lying in a pool of blood and informed the police, who shifted her to a nearby hospital, but was declared brought dead.

The lorry was speeding and the driver failed to notice the woman and mowed her down. She was on her way to Kasturi Nagar to visit her grandson, who was admitted to a hospital.
