S Janaki discharged from Mysuru hospital

The nightingale of south Indian film industry, popular play back singer and music composer S Janaki hails from Andhra Pradesh.

Mysuru: Popular play back singer S. Janaki, 81, who was admitted to a private hospital after she accidentally slipped and suffered a fracture in her waist while entering the house during her visit to a friend's place three days ago, returned home on Saturday.

Speaking to media persons she said: “I accidentally fell down while entering the house. I have been operated upon. I will rest for a few days in Mysuru. People of Kannada naadu (Karnataka state) love me a lot. With their love and prayers I will always be fine. I like Mysuru a lot, though I don't know why."

The nightingale of south Indian film industry, popular play back singer and music composer S Janaki hails from Andhra Pradesh. She commenced singing for movies in 1956, had ended her musical journey of more than six decades with her last public concert at the amphi theatre of Manasaganothri in cultural capital of the state, Mysuru, on October 28, 2017.
