Hyderabad: 2-wheeler owner with 105 challans made to cough up
Hyderabad: Abids traffic police caught a two-wheeler which has 105 traffic challans on Saturday at Jagdish Market. The two-wheeler is registered in the name of Chera Venkatesh.
A total of 105 challans are pending on the vehicle, amounting to Rs 16,390 since July 2016.
V. Ramchandra, inspector of police, Abids traffic, said, “On Saturday he parked the vehicle at a no parking zone when traffic Sub-Inspector B. Satyanarayana checked in the personal digital assistant (PDA) and found that Chera Venkatesh had 105 pending challans.”
A chargesheet was filed by the police in court on Saturday and the vehicle owner has to present himself before the court.
Usually, a chargesheet is filed if the owner of the vehicle defaults in paying 10 challans. In 105 challans, 99 challans were issued for using the two-wheeler without a helmet.
The other challans are for cellphone driving, wrong/unauthorised parking, disobedience of orders and jumping of stop line/ zebra line crossing.
