BJP slams MP CM Kamal Nath\'s government on ‘failed’ poll promises
Bhopal: The BJP on Saturday released a chargesheet against the Kamal Nath government, accusing it of having “failed” to fulfil promises it had made to the people. The party targeted the Congress government for its inability to deliver on its promise to waive farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh each. CM Kamal Nath, however, described the chargesheet a “bundle of lies”, saying that 21 lakh farmers have been benefited by the crop loan waiver scheme in the last six months.
The Congress returned to power in MP after a gap of 15 years in last year’s Assembly elections, virtually piggy-riding on the farm loan waiver promise. “Farm loan of not a single farmer has been written off till date. The Congress has duped farmers by making false promise of writing off crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh each,” BJP vice-president Shivraj Singh Chouhan said while releasing the chargesheet. “The situation is very serious across the state. Agriculture operation has literally come to a standstill in many parts of the state. Farmers feel cheated and are angry with the state government for their misery,” Mr Chouhan said.
