Vigilance court to consider Thomas Chandy case on Monday

The court will also consider the request of the vigilance and anti-corruption bureau that more time is needed for presenting final report.

Kottayam: The vigilance court here postponed considering the case in which former transport minister Thomas Chandy is accused of constructing an illegal road to his Lake Palace Resort. The court postponed the case to Monday. The court will also consider the request of the vigilance and anti-corruption bureau that more time is needed for presenting final report.

The vigilance had earlier filed an interim report at the court demanding that they need more time for presenting the final report in the case. The court had previously given three months time for vigilance investigation.

The preliminary investigation had found that the public exchequer suffered loses in the construction of the road to the resort and the Puramboku land was encroached for the construction of the parking ground. Advocate Subhash who filed writ in the case demanded that the case should be investigated by the vigilance and that it should not be delayed indefinitely.
