Debt-ridden farmer ends life in Ranga Reddy district
Police registered a case of suspicious death and started investigating.
Hyderabad: Increased financial burden drove a farmer in Ranga Reddy district to suicide. Kummari Papaiah hanged himself from tree in his fields on Wednesday.
According to police, Papaiah of Antireddy village of Shabad mandal owned agricultural land in his village.
He had borrowed money from villagers but could not repay the loan as the crop failed. This pushed him into depression. For the past few days, he was said to be behaving abnormally.
On Wednesday morning, he went to his fields but did not return home by the evening. While searching for him, his family members found him hanging from a tree. Police registered a case of suspicious death and started investigating.
