Award for videos on torture of elephants

The videos shot starting from the Kodiyettam till the end of pooram on May 6 this year can be submitted to the task force.

Thrissur: Heritage Animal Task Force, a pro-animal organisation, is conducting a videography competition in which videos depicting torture on elephants during Thrissur Pooram can be submitted.

V.K. Venkitachalam, the secretary of the Task Force, said that the award, launched in 2012, was given only to still photographs till last year.

The videos shot starting from the Kodiyettam till the end of pooram on May 6 this year can be submitted to the task force. The videos of a maximum size of 1 GB can be sent to heritageanimaltaskforce@gmail.com till May 8.

There is no registration fee and a single person can sent as many as five separate videos to the award which carries a cash prize of Rs 10,001. The details of the footage such as the place of occurrence along with details of the elephants in the footages need to be mentioned in the mail.
