Secret diary: I-T men grill CM's security advisor and former IPS officer M Kempaiah
He was grilled for a couple of hours regarding an inquiry in the alleged transaction of Rs 12 crore made to him.

Bengaluru: The Chief Minister's security advisor and former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer M. Kempaiah was on Wednesday summoned by the Directorate of Income Tax, Karnataka and grilled for a couple of hours regarding an inquiry in the alleged transaction of Rs 12 crore made to him.
This was reportedly detected during the Income Tax raid on the premises of a former Member of Legislative Assembly, P. Ramesh Kumar (who is also close to Rakesh — the elder son of Chief Minister) in December last year, and the subsequent raid on the house of Member of Legislative Council (MLC) K. Govindraju.
The MLC is also closely associated with Mr. Siddaramaiah in March. Mr. Ramesh is involved in various businesses including finance and real estate. Though sources in the I-T Directorate refused to speak on the issue it is reliably learnt that during the raids in the politicians' premises for alleged tax evasion the I-T sleuths had reportedly stumbled upon a diary, in which there was a mention of transaction of Rs 12 crore to Mr. Kempaiah for political expenses.
The Directorate after examining the documents, which were seized in the search and seizure operations wanted to question the high profile officer on the authenticity of the diary note and the controversial Arkavathy land de-notification case in which huge amounts of money had reportedly exchanged hands. Besides Mr. Govindraju, the I-T sleuths had also raided the premises of two other MLCs - U. Mallikarjun (Independent) and C.R. Manohar (JD-S) in March.
