KMRL kicks off process to set up entertainment hub
Kochi: The Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) has kick-started the process to set up a theme-based leisure and entertainment zone at proposed Kakkanad Metro city.
It has floated tenders to select an internationally reputed consulting organisation to “assist in ideating and executing an innovative contemporary concept plan” for the entertainment zone.
“The consultancy will have to prepare the concept plan, detailed project feasibility report, marketing, bid process management and transaction advisory service to attract international business partners for implementing the project together with the KMRL,” a senior official said.
“We’re looking into the possibility of setting up a virtual reality or zero gravity experience centre among others,” the official said. The integrated metro township is planned to be developed on 17 acres at Kakkanad as part of increasing non-ticketing revenue and includes an apartment complex, entertainment zone and shopping mall.
