Kakinada: Indian Nationalist Movement (INM), a voluntary organisation that claims to be working for the people has launched a campaign in districts including Kadapa, Kurnool, Nellore, East Godavari and West Godavari and other parts of Telangana to raise awareness for protection of environment.

The organisation volunteers are campaigning for creating awareness among people for protection of environment and appealing to the the voters not to vote for anti-environmental forces.

According to sources, the organisation identifies activities involving mining of items such as laterite, bauxite, coal and the digging of many of the important hills that are valuable supporters in providing drinking water and also protecting ecological balances among the objectionable acts.

Volunteers are also campaigning against the ruling party saying that Telugu Desam workers in the villages who have been harassing and attacking people, in particular those from the lowest sections.

"Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu promised people of Prathipadu mandal of East Godavari that he would cancel the mining operations in Vantada which had led to one of the largest scams in the state. Since his assuming power, however, the mining continues as usual. Mr Naidu also promised to cancel the Kakinada Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) and return the land to farmers. The Chief Minister, however, has been encouraging and trying to develop KSEZ by doing injustice to the farmers.

TD leaders, in the name of Janma Bhoomi Committees, have been looting people and obtaining commission in the execution of various schemes, particularly affecting the Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes and the down trodden sections of Backward Classes.

People should punish  Telugu Desam and give them a fitting lesson," said its state president K. Rajendra.

He said that the ruling TD leaders have dug up the Ramesampet hills and amassed thousands of crores of rupees. This is going to harm the environment in a big way while the Chief Minister failed to put a break on the corruption, he alleged, adding that the organisation is bringing to the notice of people these issues and create awareness among them to choose right person.

Professor Krishna Prasad would tour these villages. Because of the mining activity, it is claimed that many drinking water sources and ground water level have been depleted and such anti-environmental forces should be defeated.

The INM leaders say that Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has bowed his head in front of Mayavati for her leadership qualities and the BSP supports Jana Sena.

Jana Sena Prathipadu candidate Varupula Tammmaiah who garnered the support of INM said that he had strived and demanded the declaration of Pedamallapu-ram mandal as tribal mandal.
