Hyderabad: Azad rival prints pamphlet in Urdu
Hyderabad: Deviating from the party line, Dr Bhagwant Rao, BJP candidate for Hyderabad constituency, is trying to appease voters of the Old City. He is also avoiding sensitive issues.
He brought out a pamphlet in Urdu starting with the Islamic greeting, ‘Assalamu alaiykum’ and ending with promises prefixing the word ‘Insha Allah’ a phrase from the Quranic command used by Muslims when they speak about future events. Dr Rao said that he was against creating a hate atmosphere or delivering provocative speeches.
He promised to constitute a community council consisting of representatives from all communities to solve social, economical and canonical issues.
He also promised to depute 100 persons to look after the problems of people in his constituency and provide employment to unemployed youth with the help of banks. He claimed that he would launch a project to develop and beautify the Musi river on par with the Narmada in Ahmedabad.
The BJP candidate claimed that he was born in a poor family and was well aware about poverty and the problems confronted by the poor in the Old City. He said, “I am well aware about the difficulties that poor parents face to provide food to their children. I know that our young sisters are sitting in the houses and their parents and family members are worried about their marriages. Our youths are forced to do petty work to assist their parents due to unemployment.”
He criticised the MIM indirectly for provocative speeches and claimed that its leadership lacked vision and agenda and was trying to misguide people on issues like interfering with the Shariah, Pulwama, Macca Masjid and Samjhauta Express blasts.
He asked people to ask them why they were silent on the Alair encounter in which 5 handcuffed youth were shot dead in cold blood. He alleged that they were usurping Waqf properties worth crores of rupees in collusion with the ruling party.
BJP national president, Minority Morcha Mr. Abdul Rasheed Ansari released a Urdu handbill on Thursday at the state party office at Hyderabad in the presence of Dr. Bhagwant, Mr. Afsar Pasha, state president, Mr. Mir Firasath Ali Baqri, spokesperson, BJP Telangana.
