Chennai: AIADMK (Amma) candidate, for the first time in his campaign came out strongly against the BJP and alleged that former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam is under the control of the BJP and RSS.
Though, the Left parties and VCK were making such charges against Panneerselvam, this is the first time Dhinakaran is coming out with such an allegation and attacking the BJP openly. In the last few days of the campaign, he was subtly hinting at the support of BJP to Panneerselvam. But, questions were raised by the Left parties and VCK over Dhinakaran’s reluctance to take on the BJP openly.
Dhinakaran, campaigning in RK Nagar on Tuesday said the centre is providing security to major RSS and Sangh Parivar organisations throughout the country and Panneerselvam too had been added in the list.
In RK Nagar, all the officials including the Returning Officer had been transferred and the voting machines from UP had been brought, he said adding such measures would not help the victory of betrayers and that his win could not be stopped.
OPS: Dhinakaran carrying money bags to bribe voters
Former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam charged AIADMK (Amma) candidate, T.T.V. Dhinakaran with trying to distribute money to RK Nagar voters and asserted that he could not win the elections by giving money.
Campaigning in RK Nagar for the bypoll, Panneerselvam said Dhinakaran is carrying money bags, but his (OPS) party is conveying its affection and concern to people. Affection would defeat money in the conflict, he asserted. He said the AIADMK was founded by former Chief Minister MGR to fight against nepotism and family rule and former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa was also fighting family rule.
