MIM eyes Tamil Nadu elections to expand base
MIM is likely to contest the forthcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Hyderabad: The MIM is likely to contest the forthcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The Hyderabad-based party, which has been making attempts to expand it base after winning two seats in the Maharashtra Assembly recently, has started its party wing in Tamil Nadu. The party had played an active role in helping the Chennai flood victims last year.
According to sources, it is likely to field candidates in at least half-a-dozen seats in areas dominated by Muslim and Dalit communities. MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi told this newspaper that he will announce the party’s stand on Tuesday.
