Chennai: AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa will hit the campaign trail on April 9 by addressing a mega rally in her R.K. Nagar constituency in North Chennai. She released the list of her candidates for all the 234 constituencies for the May 16 state poll on Monday.
Ms Jayalalithaa will address 14 election rallies in various districts between April 9 and May 12 and one rally in Puducherry, which also goes to polls on May 16, the AIADMK said in a press release.The release said Ms Jayalalithaa will address mega rallies in Chennai, Virudachalam, Dharmapuri, Arupukkottai, Kanchipuram, Salem, Trichy, Madurai, Coimbatore, Villupuram, Perundurai, Thanjavur, Tirunelveli and Vellore. She will address an election rally in Puducherry on April 25.
Sources said the AIADMK supremo will introduce candidates of the region at the election rallies and address party cadre and general public at the rallies that would be planned in a grand manner. They also said the campaign has been planned in such a way that Ms Jayalalithaa returns to Chennai in the night
after addressing each rally.
