Hyderabad: Kendriya Vidyala Sangathan, New Delhi, has issued directions to deputy commissioners to ensure uniformity in teaching the additional subject in Kendriya Vidyalaya schools. Responding to an article published in Deccan Chronicle on March 10, Dr Shachi Kant from KVS, New Delhi, stated that teaching of the additional subject (regional or foreign language) would be done in Classes 6 to 8 by carving out two periods from the four periods meant for Art Education and one of the two periods of Work Education in the time-table. He said that teaching of German language was continuing in Kendriya Vidyalayas since 2009-10.
