BJP lambasts CM, Dr G Parameshwar for delay in nabbing Raju killers
Mysuru: Opposition BJP leaders organised a mega rally on Monday and lambasted Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister, Dr G. Parameshwar for the delay in arresting the assailants of BJP worker Raju.
The protest was led by Mysuru BJP MP, Mr Pratap Simha and senior BJP leaders K.S. Eshwarappa, R Ashok, C.T. Ravi, S A Ramdas, C.H. Vijayshankar and G. Madhusudan. Over 4000 BJP workers from Mysuru Mandya and Chamarajnagar joined the protest.
The mother of Raju, Chandramma, too participated in the protest along with her daughters Rani and Mangala. Chandramma expressed her grief over the fact that the CM, despite belonging to Mysuru, did not visit her house to console her “If this had happened in your house, would you have kept quiet?,” she asked. Mr Pratap Simha said no strict directive has been issued by the CM to arrest the culprits. “The daylight murder in the CM’s hometown has instilled fear in the minds of people. Instead of instilling confidence by arresting the assailants and banning outfits like PFI, the CM is more worried about his vote bank. Mr Siddaramaiah should remember that he is not just the CM of a community but of the entire state. If the assailants are not arrested by April 15, we will launch a strong protest,” he warned.
Mr Eshwarappa wondered why the magisterial inquiry report of deputy commissioner C. Shikha on the Madikeri violence related to Tipu Sultan Jayanti was not made public. He claimed that people from Kerala had committed the murder of Raju.
