Bengaluru: The greens see red

The government has been planning projects that are neither sustainable nor environment friendly.

Bengaluru: Urban experts have put the state government on the mat for giving a nod to the multi-crore elevated corridor without holding a public consultation. When mass rapid transportation modes help to check traffic congestion in the long run, the government has been planning projects that are neither sustainable nor environment friendly.

Environmental activists believe that tenders have been deliberately floated for the elevated corridor without public consultation to avoid any opposition to it and emphasised that for a growing city like Bengaluru, this is not a solution.
