Bengaluru: Mob vandalises bakery for pro-Pak post by owner's bro

A mob of 10 goons vandalised a bakery owned by the youth's brother in Madiwala.

Bengaluru: A day after a Bengaluru youth hailed Pakistani Army on his Facebook account following their treatment of Wg Cdr Abhinandan Varthaman, who was rescued from a mob in the Pakistani territory, a mob of 10 goons vandalised a bakery owned by the youth’s brother in Madiwala.

The goons vandalised Plaza Bakery run by Abdul Saleem's brother Muneer, who are from Kerala. The police have registered a case of rioting under Section 146 of the IPC against the mob based on a complaint filed by Arasappa, the owner of the building where the bakery is located. However, the cops are yet to make any arrests.

On March 2 when Pakistan released Abhinandan who was detained by the Pakistani army after he ejected from his fighter jet after being shot down, Saleem allegedly added a filter 'I Stand With Pakistani Army' to his profile picture. The filter, which had the image of an armed Pakistani soldier, went viral and eventually a suo motu complaint was filed by the police against him for supporting Pakistani Army.

While the police are searching for Saleem, the mob broke the signboard and showcase of the bakery. Muneer was not present in the bakery when the mob vandalised it.

The police have booked Saleem under IPC sections 124A (Sedition), 507 (Criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication), 153A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth), and 155 (Liability of person for whose benefit riot is committed).

On February 23, a branch of Karachi Bakery in Indira Nagar was vandalised by miscreants while threatening the owners to change or cover Karachi in the bakery's name. The police have arrested nine miscreants in that case.
