Nurses' agitation ill-timed: Labour minister T P Ramakrishnan

Speaking to media here on Sunday, he said the protesting nurses are challenging the common public.

KOZHIKODE: Labour minister T.P Ramakrishnan has criticised the nurses’ strike at a juncture when the government is in the final stages of ensuring the minimum wages in hospitals. Speaking to media here on Sunday, he said the protesting nurses are challenging the common public.

“The nurses’ issues at a private hospital in Cherthala will be sorted out there only. The government has already acted on this. The striking nurses have to allow sufficient time for any government to convert decisions into action,” said the minister. The nurses’ of the private hospitals in the state have decided to go on mass leave from March 6. The strike has been called by United Nurses’ Association (UNA).
