Chennai: Motta Siva Ketta Siva release stayed by Madras High Court till March 15
Chennai: Uncertainty still prevails over the release of Tamil film Mottai Shiva Ketta Siva, starring choreographer turned actor Raghava Lawerence and Nikki Galrani as the Madras high court has restrained Vendhar Movies and its proprietor and producer S. Madan or his men from releasing the movie.
Justice K. Kalyanasundaram who granted the interim injunction till March 15, also restrained Vendhar Movies and Madan from using in any manner the photo or name of T.R. Pachamuthu alias T.R. Paarivendhar, Chancellor of SRM Group of Institutions in full or part in his banner or venture. The judge also ordered notice to Vendhar Movies and Madan on an application arising out of a suit filed by Pachamuthu alias Paarivendhar.
According to advocate B. Saraswati, counsel for Paarivendhar, Madan had joined the Paarivendhar’s political party Indiya Jananayaga Katchi (IJK) and has been removed from the party in February 2016. Paarivendhar has no connection since six months prior to his removal. Meanwhile, Madan was using the part of Paarivendhar’s name in his movie banner along with his photo to get finances from financiers. Therefore, Paarivendhar has filed the present suit, she added.
Initially, the movie was to be released in May 2016 but it was delayed after producer Madan of Vendhar Movies (distributor of the film) disappeared. Thereafter, the movie was to be released on February 17 and 24 but was postponed. Finally, it was to be released on March 10. But it may not happen now since the court has stayed the release of till March 15.
