Madurai: In an attempt to reach out to the more educated sections of the electorate in Tamil Nadu, the BJP on Saturday launched an official website-www.lotustimes.org from the temple city.
B L Santhosh, BJP All India Joint General Secretary launched the website in the presence of state president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, Rajya Sabha MP Ela. Ganesan and R Srinivasan, party state secretary, at a simple marriage hall near Thiruparankundram.
Explaining the objective of this website, Shastry V Mallady, the editor of 'Lotus Times' said the ideology of the party and its programmes would be communicated effectively to the larger audience through this website.
The achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the programmes undertaken by the party in Tamil Nadu would be highlighted prominently in the website, said Srinivasan, BJP state secretary who also runs a 'Makkal Sevai Mayyam' in Madurai, a apolitical service.
The website content is in the English language which also uploads the speeches (audio and video) of the party leaders. It also has a new column to highlight the intervention of the party leaders in solving the people's issue.
The senior BJP leaders also released two booklets on the occasion- one on the positive impact of demonetisation and second on Shri. Narendra Bhai Modiji's achievements at the global level.
